Adult ADHD Evaluations

Comprehensive evaluation for adults with concerns about attention, organization, executive functioning, and possible ADHD.

Who Is an Adult ADHD Evaluation For?

An adult ADHD evaluation may be helpful when longstanding difficulties with attention, organization, time management, impulsivity, or executive functioning are interfering with work, school, relationships, or daily responsibilities.

Difficulty sustaining attention
Disorganization or poor time management
Frequent procrastination
Difficulty completing tasks
Impulsivity or restlessness
Questions about ADHD versus other causes of attention problems

What Does an Adult ADHD Evaluation Assess?

An adult ADHD evaluation examines attention and executive functioning in the context of developmental history, daily functioning, and other factors that can affect concentration and organization.

Attention

Sustained attention, distractibility, and the ability to maintain focus over time.

Executive Functioning

Planning, organization, working memory, cognitive flexibility, and self-monitoring.

Processing Speed

Mental efficiency and the speed with which information is processed and acted upon.

Learning & Memory

How efficiently new information is learned, retained, and recalled.

Emotional Functioning

Mood, anxiety, stress, and other psychological factors that may affect attention and daily functioning.

Developmental & Functional History

Childhood symptoms, academic and occupational history, and the impact of attention difficulties across settings.

What to Expect

An adult ADHD evaluation typically includes several steps designed to determine whether ADHD best explains your concerns and to identify other factors that may be contributing.

STEP 1

Consultation

We briefly discuss your concerns, history, and whether an ADHD evaluation is the appropriate next step.

STEP 2

Clinical Interview & Assessment

The evaluation includes a detailed clinical interview, assessment of attention and executive functioning, and review of relevant records when available.

STEP 3

Diagnostic Feedback

Results are reviewed with you, including whether findings are consistent with ADHD and whether other factors may better explain your symptoms.

STEP 4

Report & Recommendations

You receive a written report summarizing findings, diagnostic impressions, and practical recommendations for treatment, work, school, or daily functioning.

What You Receive

The goal is to provide a clear understanding of whether ADHD is present, how attention and executive functioning are affecting daily life, and what practical steps may help moving forward.

Diagnostic Clarification

An integrated evaluation of attention, executive functioning, developmental history, and other factors that may help explain your symptoms.

Individualized Recommendations

Practical recommendations tailored to your findings, needs, and goals, including strategies for work, school, and daily functioning.

Feedback Session

A dedicated appointment to review results, answer questions, and discuss appropriate next steps.

Written Report

A comprehensive report summarizing findings, diagnostic impressions, and recommendations that can be shared with treating providers when appropriate.
